I listened to an amazing interview with Dr. Andrew Huberman, and Tom Bilyeu it was about dopamine and detoxing dopamine.
Basically, Dr. Huberman goes into detail about dopamine and how we originally associated it with pleasure, whereas now we're starting to understand that it's tied more to motivation and pursuit.
Dopamine is the driving force to seek new rewards, new avenues, new adventures.

Subconsciously, dopamine also acts as the inside look at the regulation of how we view our life. Are we doing well? Are we doing poorly? One of the main keys is being able to attach to dopamine to the pursuit of whatever goal you're working towards. By attaching those feelings of reward to the hard work, struggles, and process, then the rewards when they come are that much greater.
