Trying to optimize your day to get more stuff done? Same. Peak performance time frames are hardwired into our DNA. Neurotransmitters have circadian rhythms, so our problem solving, alertness and mood can vary throughout our day based on those circadian rhythms.
Studies show that peak learning time for most individuals occurs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and then again 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.. However, everyone is different, so you need to figure out when your peak times are.
Studies show that peak learning time for most individuals occurs between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and then again 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.. However, everyone is different, so you need to figure out when your peak times are.
Here's how you can do that:
Think about your day. When are you most alert? When do you have the least distractions? When do you feel most energized? Have you noticed there's certain times of the day that you just crush your to do list? Start noticing when those times are and take note. It's also worth looking at the times of day that you are the least productive and note that as well. For me I know that 8:30-12 is a powerhouse time for me to accomplish high priority tasks whereas 3 pm is a low productivity time for me, so I tend to schedule lower brainpower tasks at that time of day.
Figuring out when your optimal window is and then making sure that you schedule the highest priority tasks within that time period so that you are the most cognitively awake, ready, alert and productive.
